Spearfishing while Freediving is a great activity and sport, where you discover yourself as much as the ocean.
Yet, as all extreme sports, risks are inherent, hence a perfect understanding and improvement of your Freediving abilities are paramount.
We will focus on safety rules, correct any mistakes or "bad habits", Freediving / Hunting techniques and Speargun handling so beginners start on the right foot, or already experienced Spearos expand their knowledge.
Courses in English, French and German.
Course prerequesite: SSI Freediving level 1 (or equivalent).
After this specialty course, you will obtain the SSI Spearfishing Safety and Training Certification.
Spearfishing is done Freediving: the Spearo dives on one breath of air in his lungs.
We will go through the right breathing techniques (whole cycle leading from one dive to the next one),
equalisation, how to safely and effectively perform a dive and how to behave under water, with and without the speargun.
The last part of the course (once you are certified) is an optional spearfishing trip where you will be able to apply your newly learned techniques in open water.
The Spearfishing Safety and Training course consists of a theory session, pool sessions and a boat trip to review your skills in open water and shoot your first fishes.
The theory class can be done face to face or online (via Zoom). Pool training on the same day or shortly after.
We will focus our training on improving your freediving abilities, relaxation and breathing techniques.
If you choose to add the boat trip, it will then be organised according to weather and sea conditions to get you the best experience possible.
After the course, I will be glad to stay in touch, answer any questions, and of course organise spearfishing trips.
The training sessions are planned as per SSI training standards, but each diver has its own learning curve.
If additional sessions are needed (to reach the required level or fulfill the requirements), they will be at extra cost, depending on the needed training and location (pool or open water).
